Meet Alder & Agate
Alder & Agate was born from a love of Lake Superior, creating with my hands, and finding beauty in the little things. What started as collecting agates with my family along the North Shore slowly grew into something more.
My husband Cameron helps with the stone side of the process; collecting, cutting, tumbling, drilling, and preparing the agates, while I design and handcraft each finished piece. Our kids are often part of the adventure too, whether they’re searching the shoreline for treasures or helping us sort through a new batch of stones.
After spending years in finance, life shifted in a big way for our family. Our youngest daughter, Lucy, was born with a congenital heart condition, and I eventually stepped away from my career to be home with our children. Alder & Agate became a way for me to create something meaningful while still having the flexibility to be present with my family.
Every piece is made in Duluth, Minnesota, inspired by Lake Superior and the rugged beauty of the North Shore. I use natural stones, 14k gold-filled findings, freshwater pearls, Czech glass, and thoughtfully chosen materials to create jewelry that feels special, wearable, and lasting.
Because no two agates are ever the same, many of our pieces are truly one of a kind — little pieces of the lake, made to be worn and loved.
